Can anyone help with some weird stuff that comes up on my computer?
try going to 'run' and type in msconfig then go to start up tab. untick this program ( norton related ) and it will stop it opening ( well trying to open ) when you start up your pc. i hate norton as it gave me nothing but grief !
Reply:Just a quick line to inform you that Norton (which most likely is the problem) can also be listed under Symatec in your control panel-add and remove programs.

Once removed you will need to activate the Windows firewall (better than none) and download an Anti virus program I suggest AVG from Grisoft it is free for home use and very effective.

Also look for "Superantispyware" as this is also free and is very effective in removing stubborn trojan type spyware.
Reply:i can guess that's Norton anti virus prog trying to update itself, try disabling it in msconfig , go to start run , type in msconfig , look in startup and untick it , reboot your pc
Reply:Have you got Norton Antivirus, this sounds like it it is the problem.gO TO START%26gt;MY COMPUTOR%26gt;CHANGE REMOVE%26gt;DELETE NORTON,then check again for the problems.GOOD LUCK.
Reply:you may have some nastys on you pc

Reply:Get rid of Norton, it causes more problems than enough. Then install AVG free anti virus programme and free spybot. Both of these programmes are free and much better than Norton. They do not use up much of your computers resources unlike Norton and AVG updates itself every day also unlike Norton. I forgot, also install the free version of Zone Alarm firewall. This is very good although initially it will keep asking you to allow all of your programmes until it gets used to your system. Once it has done this it is brilliant and far better than the Windows Firewall.lol
Reply:Norton antivirus updates have gone haywire. Unplug from the outside world, reboot in safe mode and remove Norton. Reboot in normal mode and reinstall. Then replug your internet connection.
